Today’s episode features Zoe Kaiser, row-crop farmer, rancher, farmer’s wife, farmer’s daughter, and Crop Insurance agent. Zoe lives in western Kansas with her husband; they’re both 5th generation farmers, and between the two of them, they have a lot of irons in the fire! When Zoe’s not helping on the farm, she spends her time informing customers and finding solutions that best fit her customer’s row crop and cattle operation. She’s passionate about the world of crop insurance and risk management, and loves that she has the opportunity to serve Western Kansas producers with the quality customer service and solutions they truly need.
We’re explaining crop insurance in this episode - specifically from an agent’s perspective, because this is the world that Zoe and I both work in. Crop insurance plays a vital role for families and their farms, because really, it’s how they’re able to protect their livelihoods (no matter what kind of crazy weather occurs that year). We’re talking about the importance of multi-peril crop insurance, terms like the 10-year average and APH, a variety of policies and products that may be beneficial in protecting your family (depending on where you live), and more.
There is a LOT more money on the table with farming these days - you don’t want to be left vulnerable and completely unprotected, no matter where you live. Zoe and I both really enjoy the world of Crop Insurance; it’s extremely rewarding getting to support so many incredible families and their operations in this way. I hope this episode gave you some great insight as to what we see and do in our day-to-day work!
Zoe Kaiser is a row-crop farmer, rancher, farmer's wife, farmer's daughter and Crop Insurance Agent. She and her husband Luke reside near Grainfield, Kansas where they farm and ranch with both of their families raising corn, soybeans, sorghum, sunflowers, wheat, and running a registered black Angus herd with a production sale each spring. Having grown up farming with her father and now farming alongside her husband, Northwest Kansas and agriculture runs thick in her blood, and is her top passion. Off the farm, Zoe spends her time informing customers and finding solutions that best fit her customer’s row crop and cattle operation. She understands risk management and crop insurance like the back of her hand, and is continually working to serve Western Kansas producers with top notch customer service and dedicated solutions. Zoe believes in the importance of rural by choice and enjoys impacting her local communities by being involved with various boards, organizations and volunteering where she can. Zoe is a prime example of the diversity, leadership and strength that women in agriculture hold, past, present, and future!
